Detergents: Use non scented gentle soaps on our toys and bedding. Pets are more sensitive to scent/chemicals than their human companions.

Dog Toys/Pet Bedding: Machine wash on gentle. Air dry and give them a final fluff to completely dry them - in the dryer.

Cat Toys: NON catnip toys can be machine washed on gentle. Air dry and give them a final fluff to completely dry them in the dryer.
CATNIP toys can be hand washed on the outside with a wet clean cloth to remove excess dirt. Some of our toys have removable sleeves and these sleeves can be machine washed on gentle. Do NOT wash the inner organic catnip part of the toy.

Our wool toys respond well to regular machine washing. Give them an extra rinse to remove soap residue

We have provided detailed descriptions so that you can decide on which toy is best for your pets.

Our cottons are all certified organic. Most of them come from the USA and are USDA certified. Some of our fabrics come from India (which has a growing organic cotton industry, which is great for the planet). These are GOTS certified.

Our stuffing is organic cotton, except our cotton jingle balls which are filled with natural agave fiber. Our catnip is USDA organic.

The majority of our toys are also dye free. Many of them are colorgrown (the cotton blooms in color and no dye is needed.)

IF eco dyed, they are always washed and triple rinsed.

Our hemp fabrics are also GOTS certified.
Our wools come from small family farms.

We are careful about the wool we use in our toys.

Our balls are made with regional wool, from small family farms with small flocks. The sheep are pasture raised and humanely sheered on their own farms. Raising sheep, in this way, is not super profitable. Families often do so as a hobby.

These wools are not certified organic because this process is expensive and makes sense only if you are a large producer. But..these sheep are raised naturally and only given meds if they get sick.

We are very lucky to have a local wool mill that processes using only gentle soap/water. No chemicals ever.

Our bunny yarn comes from a small east coast mill that uses traditional methods of spinning and also uses only small family farm wool!

Our owner is particular sensitive to allergens, especially gluten. So we get how important these issues are!

Our workshop is smoke, pet, and scent free. (Except from catnip which is in its separate area. ) We are also a 100% gluten free environment.

None of our makers wear scented products while producing our products. We use scent free cleaners which are 100% natural (vinegar, etc). We do not have any "air" products in our workshop. All of our laundry products are scent free and low impact.

We pack our toys in simple paper bags and are very aware of any scent from arriving packages or visitors. This is important to us!

Sadly, during shipping some carriers wear scent. We share our concerns with them, as we all should.

Purrfectplay strives to be a zero waste company.

We limit our plastic packaging to only Eco Enclose products which are 100% post consumer and reusable. They are also quite light and decrease carbon load during shipping.

Our toys are packaged in paper or glassine bags/boxes. Our tags are repurposed or 100% recycled content Kraft paper.

Our gift boxes and bags are designed to be reused or useful after the gift has been received. Even our catnip bags come with seeds and instructions to reuse the bag to grown kitty grass.

We are always looking to step more gently on our planet. The only one we have!

It is pretty rare for us to offer a sale or to offer bulk order pricing. But why??

Our fabrics are quite expensive and going up all the time. Organic and fair wage materials are way more expensive than plastic based fleece (even "eco fleece", whatever that is) or non organic heavily dyed cotton.

We pay our skilled makers a good/fair wage for their efforts. We want love and good intentions to go into every one of our toys.

So... it is very difficult to keep our pricing competitive AND to offer wholesale pricing or big sales.

Instead we focus on quality production and to design for joyful durable play. We want our toys to be affordable.. so the average person can provide their loved ones with safe quality toys.

The larger the dog, the larger the ball.
The bigger the mouth, the bigger the ball.
If your dog is toy aggressive, buy the larger ball-- it has more wool and will last longer.

Sizes: Our balls are handmade and the sizes may vary just a bit. The humans who make them are not nearly as perfect as a machine.
