Michigan License Plate Mug - Handmade in Milan, Michigan.

READY TO SHIP! Two sizes are available (tall or short). Please indicate which size and color you are ordering. Mixing glaze is a process and although slight, there could be a variation of the exact shade.

The perfect gift. Hand made, glazed, kiln fired and ready to place in your home. Dishwasher, microwave and food safe glazes.

Measurement: TALL is 5.00” H x 3.5” W and hold up to 20 ounces.

These mugs are made in stages. They begin as a terracotta clay slab that is rolled over a vintage Michigan license plate. They are formed by hand then a plaster mold is made of the mug for slip casting. Details such as the handle and thumb piece are handmade and added. Bisque fired in a kiln, then glazed. Again to go through the kiln and fired a second time to a higher temp so the glaze will mature. It takes approximately another 24 hours to cool.
