Frequently asked questions

Do you carry fabrics I can choose from?

We don't sell fabrics at this time but if you tell us what you might like, we can give you direct links to fabrics for sale online that would work perfectly for you. This way you are not limited to a handful of choices but are limited only by your design ideas. You can pay exactly what you want for your fabric utilizing sales and coupons. We are even happy to match prints! Only two way plaids have an additional match fee.

What is your turnaround time?

For our slipcovers that we make for discontinued Pottery Barn chairs, ottomans, cushions and headboards we have an 8 week processing/shipping time from order to shipping.

For slipcovers that we copy from a previous slipcover you send us (we are happy to do this but we do take apart your old cover), we have a 18-20 week turnaround time from order placement to shipping.

For custom slipcovers we make by obtaining measurements from you with help from our sketch measurement diagrams, we are currently on a 5 - 6 month turnaround from order to shipping. We have quite a few placed orders at any given time but we give each order the time and attention to detail it needs.

Do you need to be local for custom chair, ottoman and headboard slipcovers?

No, we don't need to have your furniture to make your custom tailored slipcovers. We will send you sketches of your EXACT piece of furniture, not a list of sketches that you have to find your closest match to. This insures your cover is made for YOUR piece and will fit to perfection. Measurements are diagrammed A-Z and include instructions so there is no guess work. All you need is a soft tailor's tape you can purchase at any Wal-mart or drug store. We encourage buyers to contact us with any questions while measuring so we're both confident of the results

What is the best fabric choice for slipcovers?

By far the best fabric is a nice medium weight 7 to 10 oz. twill. Other fabrics that also do well are linen, denim (also twill), microfiber velvet, medium weight duck (again, 7 to 10 oz.) and dry clean only upholstery /drapery fabrics if you don't mind dry cleaning your covers.
A good rule of thumb is if it is suitable for draperies or pillow work it will be fine for slipcovers. There are a few exceptions: upholstery fabrics that have a backing (feels rubbery on the back), fabrics that are knits or overly stretchy and very loose weave fabrics made for lighter wear than sitting on as cushions/furniture.
