Seems sadly ironic that the stuff we buy to combat skin cancer is typically a chemical laden concoction that may well cause cancer anyway. But hey, welcome to the mainstream cosmetic industry. While we make no claims or warranties as to the exact SPF protection you can expect from this face oil and have not had it professionally tested, some believe that red raspberry seed oil delivers an SPF in the 28-50 range [this seems to be based on a single study conducted in 2000], while the other natural oils in this creation are thought to offer some limited protection as well. So, this delightfully non-greasy facial moisturizer might be expected to deliver an SPF of between 4 and 50, but most likely in the 15-25 range. But do note that red raspberry seed oil is far from scientifically proven to provide UV protection.

Carrot Seed: This essential oil has a powerful earthy scent to it, which isn't bad, but isn't what most would consider a 'lovely' scent. Carrot Seed essential oil is thought by some to have powerful SPF properties of its own, which is why we now have it as an option for our Sun Shade.

Minty Lavender: Both mint and lavender are thought to help protect and heal the skin from UV radiation. Your Sun Shade will have a distinctly minty lavender scent with this essential oil pack.

None: With no essential oil pack added, your Sun Shade will have a mildly nutty, fruity scent.


|| Suggested Use ||

Pump or dropper a wee bit onto the tips of your fingers and thoroughly rub into your skin. You'll find a little bit goes a long way. When using primarily for sun protection, reapply often and after getting wet or sweating. Use caution and test yourself with short stints under intense sunshine to make sure this all natural sunscreen is adequately meeting your needs.

Since there is absolutely nothing artificial and no preservatives in your oil except for the natural preserving properties of vitamin E, please keep in mind that your oil will not keep forever. We recommend you use your serum within 8 months, longer if you keep it in the fridge. Your oil should be kept out of direct sunlight and large fluctuations of temperature should be avoided.
