If you would like to paint your 17.5” tiles and save the grout lines- you need a custom 17.5” stencil. If you don't want to keep grout lines, and you will put the base color both on tiles and grout lines, you can choose any size of the stencil.

It seems the smallest size would be perfect for completing corners of stenciling, however, it felt like this small stencil did not have the correct part of the pattern to be extremely helpful. However, it did help for bottom corners, etc.

This was a very fun project! The spray on glue is a crucial purchase when using stencils. Stenciling takes a very long time, especially for the paint to dry in between stencils. I would recommend following the directions and exploring using one coat or two. It is not always necessary to use a second coat as it takes a really long time and creates bleeding. I’m looking forward to doing more stenciling!
