Hi there! I'm so, so glad you're here. I'm Jenny Mecher, founder and designer of ThreeLetterBirds. I live in Chicago with my husband and two little girls and do all of my design work from home in our cozy apartment near Wrigley Field. And at my nearest Starbucks ♥. I've been at the lettering/small business thing for about a year and have loved, loved, loved learning all of the ins and outs and getting to be creative nearly every day!

I began teaching myself calligraphy a few years ago after some friends had gotten in to it. I bought a modern calligraphy book and FELL IN LOVE. A few months of practicing and creating some solid designs, I decided to launch ThreeLetterBirds on Etsy because I knew I wanted to make art for a living and do it for the rest of my life. The whole calligraphy discovery was incredibly timely as I felt increasingly lost and unfulfilled in all of the jobs I had dabbled in. My husband says often how he watched me come to life that year.

I spend my days jumping back and forth between caring for my two girls, dabbling in web design, packing up orders, designing new prints, and pouring over Instagram, usually with a very sweet, very creamy iced coffee in hand. In the rare moments I'm not doing one of those things, I'm often adventuring around Chicago with my family- playing at new parks, finding bakeries and cupcake places to try, and spending time with people at our amazing church.
