What is the difference between hand-finished and hand-made ceramics?

Hand-made ceramics usually refer to pieces that are thrown on a wheel and created entirely by hand. Our ceramics are hand-finished, which means the final piece and details are trimmed and finished by hand, but the base ceramic is created with a mold. We typically use the slip-casting mold technique, especially for our dinnerware. This allows for the pieces to retain a practical level of consistency for everyday use, while giving each one a unique and handmade feel.

Are the dinnerware microwave and dishwasher safe?

These ceramics are microwave and oven safe (up to 250 degrees F). Please take care to avoid temperature shocking. These are not stovetop safe, and should not be used on an open flame. They are dishwasher safe, however we recommend avoiding harsh detergents and using the gentle cycle setting when possible. We also recommend that you make sure the ceramics are spaced out evenly to avoid touching each other to prevent possible damage.

How do I remove flatware marks from my matte ceramics?

In general, matte ceramics, although beautiful, require more maintenance than gloss glazed plates. Due to the lack of a glossy protective layer, matte ceramics are more susceptible to flatware marks and stains. Although there can occasionally be actual scratches, most times they are superficial metal marks that are sitting on top of the glaze rather than cut into it. Ceramics are stronger than the metal in most flatware, and so they can leave a residue. To remove these flatware marks, we recommend hand washing the dishes with Bar Keepers Friend, which is readily available online or at most stores (Target, Walmart, etc.). There are also many great tutorials on Youtube explaining how to use the product.

What if my item arrives damaged?

We do our best to keep all our items safely packed for delivery to their final homes. However, sometimes things may inevitably get damaged en route. Please contact us within 48 hours of delivery (based on the delivery time stamp), with photos of the items and packaging, so that we may process a replacement for the damaged item. Replacements are not guaranteed, and are subject to claim investigations. Please retain all items and packaging materials until your claim is resolved. We cannot make exceptions to this policy, and this applies to domestic US orders only. If your replacement item is backordered or out of stock, we’ll notify you as soon as we have the estimated arrival date, or we may work with you to suggest a suitable replacement.

Reshaping Baskets

Sturdy, strong and gorgeous, our natural fiber baskets are super resilient. If your basket arrives out of shape, it's easy to hit the reset button. We have re-shaped them using this method.

Submerge the basket in water for 5-10 mins. If it’s too large to fit inside a container, spray it down in the sink or tub so that the smooshed portion is completely soaked. As a bonus, most fibers will give off a sweet, grassy, earthy scent when submerged. Always nice to incorporate a little aromatherapy into your day!

Remove your basket, shake, and reshape. Really get in there with your hands and mold it. The basket can take it! Dry completely on a towel (you don’t mind getting dirty), or place it outside on a flat, hard surface in the bright sun.

What if my package was lost in transit or stolen?

Once shipped, an order's tracking information is outside of our control, and as much as we'd like to be there, final delivery is out of our hands. However, please reach out to us as we will definitely assist all buyers in any way we can to work with the delivery services to file insurance claims and aid in their investigations. Refunds or replacements will only be issued if the delivery service issues a reimbursement for insured packages, based on the findings of their investigations. We cannot provide refunds or replacements for stolen packages.

Return Policy

Please contact us should you wish to return an item. Merchandise may be returned for a refund, if notified within 72 hours after receiving your order, based the delivery time stamp. Items must be in their original condition. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value. Please be careful with your return and make sure it gets to us in such a way that we sent it to you. Once we receive your return, we will inspect it and process the refund through Etsy. The buyer will be responsible for the original delivery charges and return shipping costs, including for any orders that qualified for free shipping. Shipping and handling costs, and items purchased on sale are not refundable.

Undeliverable Packages

The buyer is responsible for ensuring that the shipping address is accurate. Unless notified by the buyer before the shipment is created, we will ship all orders to the address provided. If the shipping address provided cannot be verified by the USPS, we will make our best attempts to reach out to the buyer for address confirmation. No orders will be shipped out to unverified shipping addresses, unless confirmed by the buyer. If a package is returned to us as "Undeliverable" or "Return to Sender" by the delivery service, the buyer will be responsible for all additional shipping costs to resend the item. The original shipping costs will be deducted from any refunds processed due to undeliverable orders.

Next Day Shipping

Select items that are currently in stock and ordered prior to noon Pacific Time will be shipped out the following business day (Monday through Friday, except holidays). We ship most items via UPS Ground, especially larger items and orders, and most packages arrive within 2-5 business days. Upgrades for faster shipping methods are available at checkout for an additional charge. Please message us if you have specific deadlines you need to meet, and are unsure if your package will arrive on time. We will do our best to accommodate requests.

We are unable to ship certain items to P.O. Box’s or APO/FPO addresses. If this is the case, a team member may reach out to you prior to shipping your items for an alternate shipping address.

Wholesale availability

We currently offer bulk pricing on select items in our shop. In general, we require a minimum order quantity of 25 units. Please inquire for availability and details, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
