This outfit is a so called reception pyjamas, which is supposed to be worn at home, relaxing or socialising with close friends rather than sleeping. The design is impeccably stylish: the outfit is composed of a tunic with classical lines resembling ancient garments and the pants are very wide cut with a lovely flowing form. The tunic can be made with two different sleeve models and this versatile piece can easily be lengthened or shortened to be worn with many different types of garments or even turned into a standalone dress. The pants are very comfortable to wear yet elegant. This pyjamas can be made from one or two fabrics, for example combining lace and woven fabrics.
This is a ready-made, complete printable pattern of a loungewear pyjamas from the 1930's. The pattern was published in August 1932 in German fashion magazine called „Illustrierte Wäsche- und Handarbeits-Zeitung“. The model is a rarity, as outfits with pants were not commonly worn by women at the time. The pattern is made to fit a person with the following measurements: bust: 90 cm or 35.5 ins, waist: 72 cm or 28.5 ins and hip: 100 cm or 39.5 ins, but the model is very easy to enlarge or make smaller.
