A gift for 50 years that is certain to be cherished! We found a small tree that was established in 1973, and created this stunning watch using a thin slice from the tree. Each of the 50 annual rings represents one year of the tree's life. In the words of Herman Hesse "one can read its whole history in the luminous inscribed disk of its trunk: in the rings of its years, its scars, all the struggle, all the suffering, all the sickness, all the happiness and prosperity stand truly written, the narrow years and the luxurious years, the attacks withstood, the storms endured."

Watches are crafted from Douglas-fir trees harvested from forests of western Montana. The wood dials are hand selected for their beauty and unique annual tree ring history. With a half century of growth rings on each timepiece, hours, minutes, and seconds are juxtaposed against years. Underneath each wood dial sits a Swiss made quartz movement. The watch is enclosed by a high quality stainless steel case and a sapphire crystal. The origin year of the chronology, 1973, is marked near the center of the tree. This year represents when the tree was small seedling. A slice of a tree is a snapshot of its life history. As such, every tree is unique and will vary in appearance. Hand crafted in the Big Sky Country of Montana.
