***This Spikes and Stripes Potholder is a listing for the PATTERN ONLY—not the physical item.***
The Spikes and Stripes Potholder is an adorable accessory for your kitchen that is also functional. The double thickness keeps the heat away from your hands while still looking decorative.
This pattern uses single crochet, half double crochet and a double crochet spike stitch. There is a step-by-step photo tutorial included of the spike stitch. The photos are placed at the bottom of the PDF so that you have the option to not print them out.
Cotton is used for this example, which is a size 4 medium weight yarn. If you choose to use anything larger or smaller, please keep in mind that it will affect the finished size of your potholder.
The pattern works up quickly once you get the hang of the spike stitch and you can make at least 2 potholders from one 3.5 oz skein of yarn since they weigh 1.5 oz completed.
The holder is crocheted around a 1" plastic ring that is found at the base of the cap on a bottle of water. You have the option to skip the ring and simply chain a hanger if you wish.
Pattern will be available for instant download upon payment.
