This is my original linocut 'Still Standing' and was inspired by the little lone hawthorn trees, that I often see on my walks here in the South Downs. This particular tree was so contorted and bent over by the wind. It reminded me that sometimes we feel so blown by the buffeting winds of life, that we actually have to change shape to survive the storms. But that little tree is well rooted in and often shelters birds enjoying its berries. It's still productive, still gives shelter, and despite its contortions, which I find very beautiful, it's still standing.
