Wanted to check out Sleeping Bear Dunes while out for 2 day trip north. Empire was centrally located to all locations of interest with the local beach being an added bonus. National Park office across the street from the hotel, how perfect. Figured out the map of the park for excursions with Park Attendants help; made the trip to the park more productive and rewarding.

Incredibly beautiful town with killer scenery!
Incredibly beautiful town with killer scenery! The tall trees and dense forests look exceptionally cool in cloudy and foggy weather, and very beautiful during sunny days! I could spend a couple weeks in Empire and around Sleeping Bear easily. The restaurants nearby and in Glen Arbor were great as well. Nice vibe, relaxing, and friendly people.

Empire was very inviting.
Empire was very inviting. Not a large population to contend with on the roads or during activities. the scenes from sleeping bear dunes were stunning! In empire, there's a trail that you can walk that leads you to beautiful views as well as sleeping bear dunes, minus the cost! Going to the beach to watch the sunset was amazing! There is a restaurant called Joe's friendly tavern that legitimately had the best cheeseburger I've ever eaten before!

Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes is a Michigan must-see.
Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes is a Michigan must-see. Breathtaking views everywhere you look. Nice trails to enjoy walking or bike riding. Also, the beaches are so beautiful and relaxing. I highly recommend the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive and make sure you walk (easy) out to the overlook spots. You'll be glad you did!

Easy walking to shops, restaurants, and the beach. Nice variety of places to shop including a resident with a self serve stand of cookies and jams - yum! Had the best pancakes ever at Friendly's. Scenery is priceless.
