Beautiful pattern! The technique is a bit different than the mosaic crochet technique that I'm used to doing, and because I'm making this blanket for a baby gift, I've decided to stick with my tried and true mosaic technique for the first blanket. But I'm intrigued by the Inset mosaic technique, so I'm sure I'll be making a second blanket for my own use where the loose chains won't present a potential hazard.
