This listing is for a PDF pattern to make the fearsome Kraken Shawl. This is a filet crochet pattern with the image of the kraken built into a graph/chart from which you make the shawl. To make this pattern you will need:

• Size G/4.0mm crochet hook
• 3 skeins of Tahki Alden yarn in any color you choose (or approximately 700 yards of your favorite DK weight yarn)
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
• Tassles (optional, but cute!)

This pattern is written using US crochet terms. You must have an understanding of the basic crochet stitches (sl st, ch, sc, hdc, dc, etc.) and must be able to follow the instructions for the fillet crochet technique outlined in the pattern. The pattern includes detailed instructions, charts/diagrams AND a link to a video tutorial all about filet crochet, so don't let the stitch intimidate you!
