I didn't know there would be intertwined hearts on the side (photo gallery does not show them!) and I didn't necessarily want to give the recipient "hearts" at this stage in our relationship, gulp! ;-p So I will have to awkwardly explain to him that I didn't know. (I deliberately chose this item because it did NOT have hearts like so many similar listings do for long-distance gifts.) Anyway, he will probably be happy about the hearts, ha ha. The vanilla birch smells nice - seller advised me to go with this scent instead of straight up vanilla for a man. I can't wait to give it to him next weekend - I think he'll love the personalization. Would definitely recommend this vendor and this item. :-)
