High quality fine art reproduction of a beautiful antique nature print. Vintage natural history wall art.
A reproduction of an illustration from Dutchman Albertus Seba's Thesaurus. Seba was a pharmacist and zoologist who became known for his large specimens collection. His first collection was bought by Peter the Great. His second, larger collection, was his visual reference for the engravings in his Thesaurus. In the 1730s, he hired artists and engravers, notably Pieter Tanje, to make illustrations of the many mollusks, insects, and snakes, etc. that were part of his cabinet of curiosities.
