Composed, crafted, measured, cut and sewn—all in a bedroom of a wood-sided farmhouse, built by a Civil War veteran, in a Minnesota river town. That’s the journey that each pillow cover takes, from concept to finished good.

As a graphic designer and seamstress, I make each pillow cover by hand, one at a time. Specializing in French-country, vintage-inspired burlap and cotton pillow covers, each piece has a certain couture-like feel.

I design and sew all of my pillows right here in my home. I grew up Mennonite, sewing on a little Montgomery Ward table top sewing machine and always loved it, but never imagined this is how I would support myself. As I was finishing my final year of post-graduate school, I brought a beautiful little child into the world who is severely disabled. My little guy requires nursing level care and receives around 40 hours a week of therapies, most in my home, and although my days are filled with many interruptions, squeezing in my sewing and filling orders is something I have found I both love and manage well.

When you buy a pillow or pillow cover from one of my shops, you are helping me ensure that I can meet my son's needs and keep us in our simple farmhouse in the middle of Minnesota that has been modified extensively to keep him safe! I genuinely appreciate each and every one of you. I am honored that you have chosen me to help make your spaces beautiful!

I understand that with Etsy's new policies, shops overseas are able to compete with me and sell a pillow for less than I can even buy my materials for one pillow, so I just wanted to share my personal story of where your money goes when you shop with me. Also, I do not sell anywhere else online so if you see my designs elsewhere (other than occasional shops, where my goods are also carried), they have been stolen and I would love to hear reports of where you saw them so I can continue working to protect my designs from intellectual property theft.

I no longer sew on a little Montgomery Wards sewing machine! All of your pillows are sewn on industrial sewing machines and sergers, and are professional finished, steamed, and at your request, can be delivered tagged and in sealed bags for quality gift-giving! When you purchase a product from me, it is guaranteed to meet my very high standards for quality, workmanship and durability.

I am typically shipping within 5-7 days of the time of your purchase. Please don't hesitate to ask what day your order will ship, as it will very likely be sooner than the date Etsy is currently posting! Please note that I do not accept returns, so if you would like to see how an item looks in print, please request a sample of any design you are interested in. It is only $3 and worth saving you a heartache.

If you are in a hurry for your design, please check for any SHIPS TODAY items in my shop. All those pillow covers are in stock, sewn and will ship to you the first business day of your purchase. Please note that none of my pillow covers automatically have inserts for them, as many people fold up their covers and store for the season, reusing the same inserts. This applies to SHIPS TODAY covers as well, so if you need one, you must purchase it from the Pillow Forms section of my shop, and you must checkout separately with SHIPS TODAY items from other items in my shop, otherwise they will ship when the other items are ready to ship. They also may not have all the options I offer, such a color choice on the back, since they merely represent what I already have sewn and in stock.
