Greetings Scott, There are no ball bearings in this product. There is a small magnet in the top of each leg that is used to align the Stream Deck XL with the stand. Each magnet is inserted into a slot in each leg, and a small dab of hot glue is used to cover the insertion hole. The magnets may move and make noise when the stand is shaken, but that is not really the intended use case for this product. I hope this answers your question. Thanks and stay safe, Mike
