Dior Trianon Spring Look - Nails & Lips

I love how spring brings about a dramatically different spectrum of colour and texture. Shaking off the velvet dress coat of their winter jaunt to the Palace of Versailles and stepping into the sugared salons of the Petit Trianon is the Dior Trianon Spring Make-Up Look, a delectable collection inspired by a thoroughly modern marquise.

The foundation of the look is all about a porcelain complexion, luminous eyelids and pastel perfect nails, with unexpected pops of brightness on the lips and cheeks. It’s fun and youthful, but it’s still so very refined with finely milled textures and luminous finishes.

For nails, Dior presents delectable new shades of Dior Vernis that are as sweet as sugared almonds. The fine textures and unique finishes are inspired by 18th century china, but their beautiful colours couldn’t be more up to date.

My favourite of the four is the top coat, 187 Perle. I’ve not tried a nail colour quite like it, and the results are spectacular. Perle applies as a glossy, milky lacquer with a big smattering of lilac iridescence. The shimmer is so fine and densely packed that it almost doesn’t look like shimmer at all, but rather a colour shift. What makes Perle so special is that it becomes matte as it dries, creating a unique pearl-frost effect. You can wear this alone (I actually prefer it this way – it makes nails look magical), or on top of an existing colour to transform its look.

If I had to place a bet, I’d say that 204 Porcelaine will be the ‘It’ nail colour of this collection. It’s bold, it’s feminine and it has the same divine self-levelling, glossy formula that is the backbone of all Dior Vernis nail polishes. Colour magpies will find it impossible to resist! As the colour is so pale you’ll have to take your time with this one; apply three coats for the perfect opaque finish.

When finished with a single coat of 187 Perle, the shade becomes paler, milkier and textured, with a beautiful shift. How mesmerising is the pairing of pale blue and delicate lilac?

Dior does pinks, reds and peaches better than anyone, so it’s little wonder 457 Bouquet is so delectable. The soft coral-peach shade is perfectly opaque and polished in two coats, and is a flattering colour for most skintones. It’s the dependable, suits-all shade of the bunch, and a darn pretty one at that.

When paired with 187 Perle, the warm coral-peach is completely transformed, emerging as a bubblegum pink with a cool, textured shift.

And finishing the nail collection with a flourish is 777 Bloom, a hot fuchsia pink. This powerhouse nail polish is so satisfying – opaque in a single coat, outrageously glossy, and an almost-neon shade of pink that’s just perfect for blasting those winter cobwebs away.

When layered with 187 Perle, Bloom it loses its warmth and becomes icy and textured. It’s an entirely different nail look!

This spring Dior are adding four limited edition shades to their classic Rouge Dior range to create the Trianon Rouge Dior collection. The quartet of creamy, long-lasting lipsticks balances luminous, rich colour with a moisturising complex to leave lips looking impeccably polished.

From left we have 531 Rose Crinoline, a soft peach pink with delicate golden shimmer; 757 Souveraine, a ‘just bitten’ red pink with silver shimmer; 761 Courtisane a cool toned pop pink; and 774 Allegresse a bold and creamy fuchsia. The opacity of each of the shades is impressive given just how creamy and tactile they are – each swatch above was created with one swipe.

The pastels and colour pops continue on into the Dior Trianon Addict Gloss collection, a lightweight gel-gloss hydrid that is extremely comfortable to wear. There’s big range of colours, finishes and textures covered in just four shades, here – there’s a little something to suit everyone’s taste.

From the top we have 122 Mousseline, a luxurious combination of gold flecks suspended in a clear base, which is perfect for layering; 382 Minauderie, a milky lilac pink with soft silver and iridescent shimmer; 442 Petillante, a sweet milky peach with silver shimmer; and my favourite, 772 Exquise, an outrageous, opaque fuchsia with a vinyl-like finish.

Dior has one last trick up its sleeve for spring – a limited edition new shade of Addict Lip Glow, the iconic colour changing lip balm that adjusts its hue based on the natural pigmentation of your lips. Where the original boosts lips with a delicate shade of pink, the Dior Addict Lip Glow in 004 Coral radiates a delectable orange-pink colour.

The intensity of the shade can range between a subtle hint of peach to a bolder slick of coral, depending on the unique chemistry of your lips. The mango butter based balm protects and moisturises as it colours, with a comfortable balmy finish.
