Summary
Until, that is, everything goes pear-shaped and she finds herself being frog-marched to the Cloisters - Dublin's answer to the Betty Ford Clinic. She's outraged. Surely she's not thin enough to be an addict?
Rachel isn't expecting plump, middle-aged men in brown jumpers, and more group therapy than you can shake a stick at. Heartsick and Lovesick, she seeks redemption in the shape of Chris - a man who might be more trouble than he's worth.

Comic and bittersweet
If you haven't read Marian Keyes before, I'd recommend giving Watermelon a try as it is something of a prequel. Rachel's holiday follows another sister in the Walsh family. Classically comic in Keyes style, Rachel's holiday also gives an interesting perspective on addiction. The performance is great too (my subconscious thoughts all suddenly have an Irish accent). Recommend!

irksome delivery of a relatable story..
I got the audible version to work alongside the kindle, so I could continue the tale while otherwise occupied driving and chore-ing. The story brilliantly condenses insecurities and issues of common themes for the Everygirl, though slightly marred by a rather grating narration.

Brilliantly funny, moving & thought-provoking, the best Marian Keyes book!
I thoroughly loved this book. It told Rachel's story, in a humorous, and honest way, that kept me wanting to read on. I wasn't certain if I would like the subject matter, but needn't have worried. It was written honestly and believably, with the right balance of humour.
I went with an audiobook, and was so glad as this really brought the characters to life, with that lovely Irish accent.
Would thoroughly recommend

love it
Marian Keynes at her absolute best. I read the book many years ago, listening to this audible version of the story is as fresh today as it was then . Some quite brutal topics are dealt with in a humorous yet sympathetic manor. The narrator Gerri Hallingan is fabulous and really brings Rachel to life.

What an amazing book, perfect narration, I'm so sad it's ended!
The narration was exceptional, she really brought the story to life! A few dodgy New York accents here and there but nothing to complain about! As the story began to unravel piece by piece I was totally hooked and by the end I couldn't wait to see how it ended - and I wasn't disappointed!
