Welcome to Wreath Decor by Dawn. I am a Wife, Mother and Grandmother!

I haven’t worked outside the home in some time now so finding things to keep me busy hasn’t been easy. I can only vacuum the rugs and do the dishes so many times and then what? I love being a homemaker, but what I also wanted was something that allows me to fill my free time yet be able to spend time with my family anytime I wanted. If I want to take off and spend time with my grandchildren, or take a trip with my husband, I don’t want to worry about whether or not I can get time off or if I have enough vacation time. I want to “be my own boss!”

I’ve always dreamed of having my own creative business. I have always been a crafty person, but only made things for myself, family and my home. I found wreath making and fell in love!

I was in the middle of a move and living in temporary housing while waiting to close on our new home. Since it took a while there was little to do. So I spent a lot of time on my iPad scrolling the Internet and Facebook. One night one of the pages I follow shared a video of a young man making a wreath. I watched and was mesmerized! I watched him make that wreath and knew I wanted to do that! The materials he used, the ribbons, his process, it was all so fascinating to me! I was hooked! I had not seen Deco Mesh Wreaths like these before. I was only used to seeing grapevine wreaths, floral wreaths or Christmas wreaths or the mesh wreaths displayed in local craft stores! None compared to what that young man could do! It was all new to me and I wanted to be able to do this for myself!

So, I started following his page and soon found another, and then another. I followed every one I could find to the point that little else was on my news feed! It became addicting! Every night after dinner I sat scrolling looking for a Live of someone making a wreath or watching a replay of a Live I hadn't seen or missed!

Once we got settled in our new home I decided to give it a try for myself. It was near Christmas when I found a candy cane wreath form and gave it a try! It was a disaster! I set it aside and continued to watch more videos and Live's. After the New Year slowly I started making more and joining wreath makers groups and following more wreath makers and that’s when things started improving. The more wreaths I made, the better I became. Soon I was making wreaths for family and friends. The more I made the more people loved them and with the enthusiasm and encouragement I received from them, that led me to opening my Etsy Shop!

I continue to watch others, always learning new things and ways to make myself a better designer. I continue growing my business and my skill to provide a product I can be proud to have someone display in their home. I hope you like my wreaths and decor as much as I enjoy making them.
