String Tie
This tie is made from dupioni silk fabric. Dupioni silk has a lot of texture and character. The seam is on the side and the center/back is top stitched to close the opening. The last photo shows the fabric used in the navy, brown and burgundy options. The fabrics are a blend of the colored fibers and black fibers giving it a deep, rich appearance. The navy blue option has a bit of a purple tint to it. This style and length came into being in the 1850's and has continued to be worn ever since. It is worn between the layers of the collar and usually tied in a bow but you can go with whatever knot you wish. I'm showing it in a variety of bows as well as a square knot.
These are 1.25" wide. There are a variety of lengths. Choose the length based on your neck size and the style of bow that you like. Have no idea what size you might like? Cut a piece of string to the length of the tie you are considering and see how it fits.
I pre-washed the silk. If you tie needs to be laundered you can machine wash it with like colors. I would lay it flat to dry. You will probably need to press it.
If you would like one of these in white please see this listing: https://www.etsy.com/listing/950054498/string-silk-necktie-white-47-long-for?ref=shop_home_active_4&frs=1
This will be shipped within three business days by USPS First Class mail in an envelope with tracking. Shipping multiple ties doesn't add much, if anything, to the shipping cost and I will refund any overpayment. I would encourage you to go in with some friends and divide the postage cost.
If I can tell you anything else please let me know!
Thanks for looking.
