PDF pattern instructions to make this beautiful yet simple to construct "Chloe" case, padded, fully lined with zipper closure and shoulder strap for your eReader!
***This listing is for a SEWING PATTERN only, photos of finished items are examples only and are not included. THIS IS NOT A FINISHED BAG FOR SALE***
The pattern for this set of instructions will fit the iPad Mini, Kindle Fire 7" display models, Nook HD 7", Sony eReader, Kobe Reader, or any device up to 5.5" x 8" x 1/2". The case is slightly oversized, so it is designed to protect and enhance a device with a cover. With so many covers available it is impossible to anticipate every style and size of cover that might fit. The cover I tested is a folio style cover for a Nook. It measures 6” x 8 1/8” x ¾” and was a snug fit. Very fitted covers slide in easily.
Instructions are included to adjust the pattern for some of the new smaller eReader models. If your eReader is 8.1" x 5" x 1/2" OR SMALLER, this pattern will fit.
Super fast and simple construction. Great for gifts, boutique or sell your own creations on Etsy!
If you have never installed a zipper, no problem! The method used is extremely easy. If you can sew a straight line, you can make this cover. The inside is fully lined, all seams are enclosed in the finished case and it is fully padded to protect your device. The process is super simple with a professional finished result.
After designing my first eReader case, I had requests for a case that would hold a device with a cover. I also wanted to add a shoulder strap to keep your hands free from carrying the device, or if it doesn't fit in your purse or tote, the strap makes it easy to carry. This larger sized sleeve will protect your device in style (covered or not) and may leave extra room for charger cord, a few dollars or any other small odds and ends!

Supplies for the eReader case:
==================================
1/3 yard of fabric (consider pattern placement if fabric has a large, noticeable motif, may need more fabric. Consider direction of print. 1/3 yard assumes bag will be cut across the width of the fabric. To cut lengthwise, get 1 yard)
Best to take pattern along when shopping!
1/3 yard of fabric for lining.
Batting, poly or cotton, 1 piece approx. 9” by 22” (heavier weight fabrics, lighter weight batting, lighter weight fabrics, heavier batting) Cotton batting is flatter, poly will be fluffier.
1 - 9” zipper (longer is ok) in coordinating color (nylon coil) or 9” of zipper by the foot and one pull.
1/4 yd tassel trim
Handle/strap and hardware to attach.

This detailed pattern will take you step-by-step through the construction of the cover. Every step is described and a full color photograph is provided to illustrate the step. No assuptions of skill are made (other than operating your sewing machine!) and each step is brief and logically stated in large print.
I have been sewing for interiors for over 20 years and have attended numerous classes, seminars and other instructional venues. I hope that sharing my experience with you in making beautiful items for your home will give you much pleasure and lessen frustration with trying to 'figure out' how to make an item without instructions or with limited instructions.
