What is Gold-Fill?
Gold filled is an actual layer of gold-pressure bonded to another metal. Gold filled is NOT to be confused with gold plating as filled literally has 100% more gold than gold plating. Gold filled is much more valuable and tarnish resistant. It does not flake off, rub off or turn colors. As a matter of fact, anyone who can wear gold can wear gold filled without worries of any allergic reaction to the jewelry. Gold filled jewelry is an economical alternative to solid gold!
Can I wear my jewelry in the ocean/shower with it?
Anything solid gold, gold-fill, or Sterling Silver is 100% safe in the water.
Any jewelry made from vermeil (gold plating over sterling silver) or gold plating, I recommend taking off before getting wet/applying any hair/skin products.
Is gold-fill safe for people with metal allergies?
If you are able to wear solid gold, you are able to wear gold-fill! Gold filled wears, looks and lasts like solid gold because its outer surface IS solid gold. Everything you can see and touch is pure gold.
