Château De Couvent - Case of 6 1 of 1

Château De Couvent - Case of 6

Product code: 00016131

Sorry, this item is no longer available

A beautiful example of the 2010 vintage with blueberry, mint leaf and cedar, finely structured with tightly knitted fruit and tannin. Showing at a youthful stage, the excellent structure and mineral definition promise great cellaring potential. Decant and allow to open up before serving.

While it was only recognised as a distinct appellation in 1923, Pomerol’s rise to become one of the top Bordeaux areas is remarkable. It is the smallest of all the major Bordeaux appellations, and yet its weighty, Merlot-dominated wines can command huge prices. Château du Couvent is the second wine of Clos René, owned by the Ledger family, who farm their vineyards without herbicides, insecticides or other chemical treatments. Blending 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Malbec, winemaker Jean-Marie Garde vinified each grape separately, before blending and finally maturing the wine for 18 months in French oak barrels. (Robert Parker: 88+/100).
