Incredibly impressed!

What made the experience of listening to Learn German with Paul Noble: Complete Course: German Made Easy with Your Personal Language Coach the most enjoyable?

My daughters (8 and 10) and I decided to learn German and within a day we could all three say basic (but impressively long) sentences. So clear and simple to follow and Paul explains in a way that we remember the grammar and vocabulary very easily. All three of us have immersed ourselves in German with enthusiasm and joy. Thank you Paul Noble!

Very helpful and it really works !

Paul Noble's teaching method helped me more than once already.
Learning German is a challenge, but thanks to this course I feel more confident. His explanations are so simple and the result is really good!
I really hope he keeps making more language courses like these!

great book to learn from

This is a great book and the narration is spot on. ive been trying, on and off to get to grips with learning German. This book puts it all together in a simplistic but educational manner. brilliant

Excellent and very relaxing for a beginner

An excellent introduction to German

I feel like this course may be slightly misnamed as a “complete course”, as it may make people think this takes you from beginner to advanced, which it does not. However what is here is a fantastic introduction to German, in which Paul quickly gets the listener learning, understanding and taking part in the fundamentals of German.
In each chapter Paul teacher a group of nouns, verbs and essential grammar rules culminating in a short scenario based around you being a tourist in Germany e.g. Getting directions, reserving a hotel room/ dinner table, ordering dinner and buying a train ticket. Paul’s method of constant repetition makes the learning easy without you feeling like you’re having to work hard for it, and being a native English speaker he knows the pitfalls and tricky parts in German for an English native speaker. If you have never really spoken a word or German, or only dabbled in it shortly at school, especially if you worry that learning another language is too difficult, I would recommend this as an excellent fun introduction to German basics. By the end of the book you’ll will have a surprisingly large repertoire of words and knowledge of German grammar rules considering the time you will have spent with this book, making it an excellent stepping stone onto more advanced materials.
My only personal negative is that Paul, for the sake of simplicity and not scaring away beginners strays away from using grammatical terms when teaching. For example by the end of this book you will have an understanding of the German accusative case, but you won’t know that it’s the accusative case. There is a bit of “this is how it works, but you don’t need to worry why specifically” and some readers may be frustrated by this if they want a deeper understanding.

A very good refresher/Quickstart course!

This audio book was extremely helpful in my preparation to visit Germany. I instantly remembered what I had learnt from school, as well as learn new phrases, words, and corrections to my pronunciation.

Great technique/method

Effective method used for remembering new foreign words and it enables me to create combination of words in order to make conversation. I strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn Germany.

Amazing audiobook for learning German

I cannot recommend this audiobook enough, it perfectly teaches the listener a wide range of vocabulary and phrases whilst also teaching the listener the complicated German grammar, including the accusative and dative cases, professionally and in a fun manner.

Great intro to German

For context, I bought this audiobook around a year before I moved to Germany and listened to it having zero experience of the German language.

It was a great introduction to the grammar and structure of German without being overly complex. The book introduces you to verb conjugation, noun gender and cases through examples that start simple and gradually become more complex. Each example build upon the previous making the progression and pace feel gradual and organic.

I found this introduction to German grammar concepts to be really useful when I started to study the language using more "traditional" text books. I was able then to learn about accusative case for example and be able to tie it back to the examples I had learned with this audiobook. I think if I had begun learning about cases without this introduction, it would have taken a lot more effort to understand it.

The book also highlights patterns where English and German words are similar to provide hooks to help you guess what a word is by knowing the English word. This is good for a lot of basic German words... "cold" becomes "kalt" for example.

There is a paperback version that is quite similar and I also have that. Can recommend that to see some of the examples written down which helped reinforce in my mind the learnings.

From all the audiobooks / books I have tried while learning German, this has been the one I have gotten the most value from.
