Blending Red Wand 28ml

It use is very messy as it is in liquid form. Also it doesn't cover grey and white hair.

I have tried out most of the root touch up products that have recently hit the market and this is my favourite by far. Easy to use. Covers the greys well and josh wood is the only one to offer in a red shade, which matches my colour perfectly. I will be a frequent customer for this.

This is ideal for me in between visits to the hairdresser -this covers my grey roots. Very easy to use, no mess, brush applicator to paint colour onto hair. Handy handbag size.

I wasn't sure this would work, but it's a brilliant temporary cover-up for my white roots! I bought the red which looks quite dark when it comes out but blended in nicely. I found priming the brush then using a clean plastic marg tub lid as an artist's palette works best and avoids overloading the brush and getting drips.

This product is fantastic at covering root growth. It blends perfectly and is easy to use. it is a little running, but blends well. Would highly recommend this product.

The consistency is very runny so you do need to decant some into a container then dip the brush in and apply. Works best when you pull the hair up from the scalp and paint on like a colourist would do. Apply to freshly washed hair and dry with hairdryer and covers well. I try not to wash my hair more than twice a week so it's not too labour intensive, if you wash every day though you'd need to reapply. A tad expensive but lasts for ages. The best red colour I've found on a root touch up too.

All women (and men) who color their hair and end up with unsightly white roots after a month's time would jump to get a product like this. The idea is great-small applicator wand with color that comes out in drops to the brush. The first and most user-unfriendly point is the applicator brush itself. It is too large and too thick and basically "globs" the color on the strand of hair. If you are not extremely careful, the color ends up on your scalp. Number two problem is that the product is too runny. If it was a wee bit thicker it would stay on the hair better and not run down to the scalp. Then, there is the dilemma of too few colors to choose from. If you have hair that is a bit "in between" colors it is difficult to find a good match although this is easily fixed by mixing two different colors. I have dark-brown hair with a touch of red and I solved this problem by buying the cool brown and the red wands and mixing a ratio of 3 drops of brown to two drops of red on a small plastic lid and mixing them together. The color turned out perfect! Then I used an old mascara brush with very long, thick bristles to apply the color to the right places. It worked perfectly and just brushed onto the strands of hair without touching the scalp. I would suggest thickening the product and dispensing it onto a round-bristled, mascara applicator instead of the clumsy brush they have now. I am sure that this would work even better and be a great success. They say that necessity is the father of invention and now it is M&S turn to make a great product even better and more user-friendly!

Bought this as a temporary fix between hair colouring and root touch up. Loved it , but 'very temporary' effect until next needed to wash my hair. May be easier to apply if the brush were thinner/ more pointed or shaped end, then you could target specific grey hairs. Perhaps a little expensive for such a temporary effect

I have dyed red hair & at 63 my own hair is grey/silver so I look like a badger when my roots are coming through. I have been looking for years for a root cover but unfortunately most of them looked orange . The stylist I use told me about josh wood. I waited until my roots were showing & went into M&S in Birmingham where a very helpful assistant applied the red to my roots. The application was awful, as the product is far too runny to apply the way the manufacturer has intended, but the colour was great, so I purchased it & had a £5 voucher to use anyway. I read dozens of reviews on all colours & everyone had similar problems ie the application. I removed the colour from my scalp using a damp spare toothbrush. I then dispensed about 10 pence worth of the product into a plastic box ( clean Chinese take away! ). I held up my hair away from my scalp & brushed a small amount of the product on to my hair ( side to side as well as up & down). Less is more. I dried it with my hair dryer & the result was excellent. The colour stayed put until it washed out about 3 days later. Apparently the product works better on wet hair so I'll be trying that when my roots appear again. Do test the product in store for colour matching before you buy. Once you have that right just practice the application.

I have tried various different root cover ups over the years and none of the products have proved to be successful !until now this product was easy to use blended in very well .
