Welcome to Caterpillar Cross Stitch, my name is Sally, and I am the creative force behind all that we do at Caterpillar Cross Stitch! In February 2019, I was awarded the Cross Stitch Designer of the Year award at the British Craft Awards 2019 also coming 2nd for Stitch Brand of the Year and 3rd for Stitch Retailer of the Year.
I love creating bright, modern cross stitch kits because I can see first hand how it enables people to awaken their creativity, relax and have some peaceful 'me time'.
It brings people together, gives our minds something positive to concentrate on, helps alleviate stress, keeps hands busy, decorates walls and makes an amazing personal gift.
Spending time away from screens and practising 'yoga for the mind' can work wonders and actually watching artwork develop before your eyes as you stitch is so satisfying and rewarding.
I'm Sally Wilson, mum of 2 and of course Caterpillar Cross Stitch, my 3rd baby. My passion is teaching others how to cross stitch and watching this simple craft change lives. Back in 2013 I was spending my time working 9-5 at a desk in a busy office as a lawyer. But when I went on maternity leave with my first child, I decided to leave law behind and concentrate on designing bright, modern cross stitch that people would be proud to stitch!
I launched Caterpillar Cross Stitch in November 2015 and I'm so excited about growing this community and helping others discover cross stitch for themselves.
I've hosted many cross stitch-a-long projects, a collection of magnetic enamel needle minders and worked with some super cool cross stitch magazines and brand collaborations. I donate £2 from every sale of our 'Be Brave' needle minders to Cancer Research UK and we are committed to giving back to the community and causes that are important to us and our stitchers.
