50s Classic

I was very impressed with the acting and the story. The only slight niggle (Spoiler Alert!) was when Gort broke the alien out of jail and carried him very slowly across town to the spaceship without being noticed. Also when the lady said them three words to Gort I was expecting the Evil Dead to Rise! Its still a Brilliant film with English sub titles too!

Brilliant classic sci-fi at its best.

As a huge sci-fi geek, i love all the classics and the day the earth stood still tops the lot (along with War of the worlds). The effects for the time were ground breaking and the film has a real story and depths that a lot of movies lack these days. The steelbook is the cherry on the cake and looks pretty good too. The price point is great at under a fiver and is a great buy.

classic Sci Fi

This has to be one of my favourite Sci Fi movies and one of the best Sci Fi movies ever made. As relevant today as it was back when it was first made this is the story of man's paranoia, whether its those red commies or like today's new knocking boys, it's a profound look at the stupidity of war and the petty squabbling of world politics. A must have movie of any fan of great cinema.
