National Second Hand day 2015 with Preloved

It seems like it was only yesterday that we were celebrating the last Preloved National Second Hand Day! This year has certainly flown by and we are now on the third everNational Second Hand Day. As usual, we’re going to be sharing some superb content, upcycling inspiration and fantastic promotions in the run up to the day, including half pricememberships (both full and premium) on the day itself!

So, What is National Second Hand Day?

It’s a day where everyone can enjoy the benefits of buying and selling their second hand wares, of course! From sofas to camper vans, to upcycling what you already have – it’s time to buy buy buy, sell sell sell and thrift thrift thrift! You or a fellow second hand lover can benefit from the act of decluttering your home and making way for new treasures. Whether you’re upcycling an old piece of furniture from our Freeloved section, or repurposing some CD’s in to fashionable accessories, there are loads of ideas for inspiration starting here on thePreloved blog.

Why Celebrate National Second Hand Day?

As well as ensuring that previously loved items go to a new home to be used in a fancy new way, it’s also an eco-friendly way to organise your space. Also, National Second Hand Day is not just about having a rummage through the boot sales, or bidding at the auctions, it’s also about supporting your local charities and organisations that advertise second hand goods on Preloved. By donating or buying from these local charities, you’ll be supporting a good cause whilst picking up a must-have find – forget going to the high street and buying replicas of old designs, head to your attic (or someone else’s!) to find the original for yourself!

How to Join in National Second Hand Day

There are many ways to join in National Second Hand Day 2015. Not only can you buy and sell second hand on Preloved, but you can also venture outside and enjoy second hand spots in your local area. Why not visit your local car boot sale or charity shop and support your fellow thrifty sellers? Or maybe you could head to an auction house or vintage emporium to dig out a treasure or two. Be sure to share your second hand finds with us on Facebook,Twitter and Pinterest!

If you’re in the decluttering mood, spend the run up to Second Hand Day having a clear out, and sell on Preloved, hold your own yard sale or head to your local recycling point. Giving to a needy cause or making a bit of money from your unwanted items can be just as satisfying as discovering new second hand finds!

So what are you waiting for? Attack that attic, clear out the closet and don’t leave out the living room! Join Preloved for National Second Hand Day 2015 on 26th April and don’t forget to take advantage of our amazing half price membership offer for one day only!
