Meramec Valley Woodworks is a small family owned and operated business in rural Missouri. We are located just outside of Steelville Missouri. A small town of just 1400 people. My wife and I along with our daughter run the business from our home workshop and we couldn't be any happier. Etsy has allowed my wife and I to have our dream job. We are very thankful to Etsy and our customers who make it possible for us to make a living doing what we love. We take great pride in what we make and do our very best to provide a great Etsy buying experience to our customers. Every item we sell is handmade in our shop from start to finish.

Meramec Valley Woodworks came in to being in 2011 as my life long (27 year) career as a custom home builder was coming to an end. The recession in the years before had taken quite a toll on my construction company and things were not looking good for my family and I. My hobby has always been woodworking. In my spare time I would make small projects and furniture for my family and friends. When things went bad for my company and work became slow for us I knew I had to make a career change. My daughter was planning her wedding when she discovered Etsy. She told me about some of the unique items she had seen on the site and suggested that I should try selling some of my work on Etsy for extra money. I put a few things on the site and almost immediately we had our first sale. It wasn't long until fulfilling orders from Etsy was taking up my entire week and the rest as they say, is history.
