Our bells are cast of solid brass, and should require minimal care to retain their beautiful patina for many years. We recommend using a damp, soft cloth to clean and buff, and then immediately drying with a separate dry cloth. Do NOT use cleaners with harsh solvents such as Windex, 409, etc. These chemicals can react with the brass surface. The use of chemical oxidizing agents can darken the surface along with any small scratches or imperfections. The acid on your fingers can also react, so please use only the pull rope when ringing the bell.

I ordered this as a graduation gift for my husband and the sign itself is beautiful. The plane in the listing is a bronze/metallic color, which I think is what makes the sign appear really polished and elevates the entire piece, but upon arrival, the plane is actually a dull/black color and not at all what the listing shows. I brought this up to the seller and they offered to send another sign but it would have the same black plane. I’m not sure I would’ve purchased this item had the listing been updated with the new black color plane. I let the seller know that the listing doesn’t match the item that I received but they haven’t updated their listing to reflect their new design. Shipping was fast, but upon arrival, the plane itself was detached from the sign and I had to glue it on.
