GDPR in a nutshell
The GDPR is a law that describes how people that collect your personal data should treat your personal data. It gives the owner of the personal information rights over that information. It also gives the collector of the personal information restrictions on what they can do with that information.
So basically it’s a law that protects your personal data from abuse. Where websites normally could store your data without asking, you now have to consent first before they can store your data. Personal data can not be stored without consent, (legal) reason or longer than needed. If at any time you wish to know what personal data is stored, you can ask for a specification. Or you can request that your information is removed.
