Why the two sided mugs?
I prefer to say right and left handed mug 😉 As a lefty myself, I know how odd it can seem to be using an apparently plain - especially when you've gone yo the trouble of finding the perfect design. You want to show it off as you drink. And yet there's also something lovely about being able to view the pattern yourself - righty's this is a pleasure you don't get that often. And so here's the solution a double sided design so we can all enjoy asking the question "What Would Joan Crawford Do?"
About JOAN CRAWFORD
Born Lucille Fay LeSueur in San Antonio, Texas in 1906 ('05 or '08, depending on the source) her father left the family before she was born and she was raised by her mother and, for a while, stepfather. She received little formal education, while working in a laundry and later as a 'work' student she spent more time cooking and cleaning.
Spotted as dancer on Broadway, she moved to Hollywood in 1925, soon becoming a major star of the silent movies carving out a niche for herself as the ultimate flapper before becoming one of the few stars to transition to the talkies with even more success. Nominated for three Academy Awards winning in 1945 for 'Mildred Pierce',
Crawford was style icon and following her marriage to Pepsi CEO Alfred Steele in the '50s, Crawford became an ardent ambassador for the brand, working tireless promoting it, being promoted to the board, wrote two books and worked tirelessly for various charities all while continuing to act in movies, TV and radio until 1970 and died in 1976.
Joan Crawford overcame poverty and hardship to reach the top of the Movie Industry only to be labelled "box office poison" by the late 30s. But within a few years had scaled the heights again with her Oscar win. She fought hard, worked with immense discipline at work and elsewhere (studying languages and music after long days at the studio) and was determined to be the very best person she could be.
What Would Joan Crawford Do?
For me the answer is be disciplined, persistent and do everything with all your heart.
What does the question mean to you?
