Once upon a time, in a novel by Mary Shelley, Dr. Frankenstein robbed some graves, mashed some molecules, and made a monster. The result wasn't too cute, but then again, Dr. Frankenstein didn't visit the yarn department.

This crochet pattern yields two much cuter versions of the classic characters, Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein. Standing about 10 inches tall when finished, Frankenstein has all the features we love, from the the too-prominent forehead to the too-small suit jacket. His Bride, meanwhile, stands just under 9 inches tall, with bandages on her arms and a sheet for a dress, just as she appears in the movie.

The pattern is easy to follow, with plenty of pictures. Required stitches are way easier than robbing graves, including sc, HDC, TC, and single crochet decrease (2sctog). To make the pattern, you will need safety eyes, scraps of black and white felt, black and red embroidery floss, and a six-inch length of jewelry wire (the gauge is not terribly important), plus a way to cut it.
