The general rule is one cubic inch per pound of living body weight. (180 pounds requires 180 cubic inches) Our current urns will accommodate a person up to 220 pounds but I do make larger urns upon request and we are planning on adding smaller and larger urns to our selection. However there is a caveat to that rule. If a person was exceptionally tall you may want to opt for a large urn urn even though he/she weighed less than 220 pounds. Bone mass produces more ashes.

No, it will not. The remains are normally in a plastic bag inside this temporary container. I am not sure why the cremation service providers do not inform the family of this but since I get this question frequently I must assume they do not. The remains must be removed from the temporary box and the plastic bag will fit into the urn.

No, I've only encountered this situation once and everything worked out fine but if this is the case please contact me for a larger urn.

Yes, I personally design and carve each urn so variations are accepted and encouraged. (as long as it will fit in the carvable area) These are very personal and I do not want you to have an "off the shelf" item for your loved one. Depending on the type of changes requested an additional design fee may be added.

Yes, I stain my urns in 3 colors of stain : Light, medium and dark so just specify what color you would like when placing your order in the note to seller or in the personalized information box.

Production time varies depending on our workload. Check the listing estimated shipping time on each product or our announcement box. We ship USPS priority mail.

Urns do not open from the top but have a panel on the bottom secured by screws. partially remove the screws enough to lift the bottom, place the bag with the remains inside and reinstall the screws. Take care not to over tighten the screws and strip them out.
