Most of our urns will hold the cremation ashes of a 200 pound adult. While some will hold more, others will hold less. Generally, when estimating the capacity of an urn, one cubic inch is approximately equal to one pound of your loved one’s weight prior to cremation.

Please note that volume capacity varies slightly for each piece.
Because each urn is hand-crafted, the volume measurements we provide are estimates only, and we cannot guarantee the exact capacity of each.

Sealing your urn:
Because they are not mass produced, you may experience some slight variation in the tightness of your urn’s lid. To ensure a tight seal, each can be sealed with an adhesive suitable for the material from which the urn is made. Urns crafted of wood tend to have a more tightly fitting lid that those made from other materials, and so will have a more uniform seal.

Water: As with other works of art, our urns and keepsakes are not waterproof. Be sure to keep your vessel dry and away from water to preserve its integrity, and to protect, celebrate, and honor its contents.
