In 1989 I bought "The Basket Book" by Lyn Siler, and a few pounds of Reed. Using some basic tools I had around the house including clippers, clothes pins,a measuring tape and some clamps, I made my first basket From from that point I was hooked. I continue to make baskets and sell them here on Etsy as well as at few select craft shows. At the end of August and through early September you will find me teaching basket making and weaving baskets in The Agriculture Museum at The Great New York State Fair.

Bouquet of Baskets is a collection of handmade baskets produced in the traditional or country style of basket making. They are mostly woven using Reed but some are woven with Ash. The baskets are produced by myself in my home workshop, located in the Beautiful Finger Lakes region of Upstate NY. The sizes are listed for each basket but can vary to 1/4" due to the fact that each basket is made individually and Reed sizes may vary slightly. Many of the baskets you see are my own designs. I make baskets because it is fun to do, they are purposeful and are used by just about everyone. Baskets can be made in any shape or form. The final product from design to finish takes, in some cases, many hours so I would expect you to be 100% happy with your basket.

My son is involved in my store. He loves to work with wood and can make just about anything. He likes to use pine, poplar and cherry wood and has a workshop located in his basement His favorite items to produce are clocks since this is what he learned to do with his Grandpa.
