ABOUT THIS CROCHET PATTERN:
After many request we're happy to release the hat style that went viral this winter: the messy bun or ponytail hat. This is a one skein wonder that looks amazing in our long-transition self-striping yarns. The pattern includes instructions to close up the hat on top. Instructions for adult and children sizes. This is a quick project that impress without stress. The pattern includes a PHOTO TUTORIAL with many pictures showing the pattern in more details. Pattern is written in US crochet terms.

SIZES INCLUDED IN THIS PATTERN:
Adult - Fits a 22 - 23” head circumference
Child – Fits a 18 – 20” head circumference

MATERIALS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT:

1 skein of Bonita Yarns Dream Baby, DK weight (100% acrylic; 393 yards/m: 360) in Pink Fuchsia Degrade and Lilac.
OR
1 skein of Bonita Yarns Merino Dream, Sport weight (50% wool, 50% acrylic; 328 yards/ 360 m) in Fuchsia Pink Shades and Bird of Paradise Degrade.

Had to adjust the gauge somewhat and then made three hats for three different little girls. Closed the top and added a pompom for one of them. They all loved their hats!

A little confusing. I think this is an intermediate pattern. It might just be me. I don’t have a lot of experience with written patterns.

This came out really cute ! I had thankfully made a few crocodile scale projects before this project. This is definitely not a beginner project. I knew going into this project it wasn’t but for anyone that is thinking about making this , you will definitely need to know how the crocodile stitch is done. I would not use the 5.00 hook, use a smaller hook. I had to make some adjustments so it would fit my head. I have bought a few crocodile scale projects before and I would have to say this was not the easiest to follow. I think having pictures, step-by-step with the directions would had made it a lot better for somebody that needs to see something to understand it. Overall, I was really happy with the hat.
