Space Shuttle Atlantis

Get up close to the real-life Space Shuttle Atlantis! This world-famous NASA spacecraft, which is housed in a brand new 90,000sqft exhibition area at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, travelled to space an incredible 33 times before being retired in 2011.

IMAX Theater

Included in Space Pass Plus and Ultimate Space Experience tickets

Led by a trained space expert, this out-of-this-world tour takes you through the restricted areas of the Kennedy Space Center complex where you’ll see the space shuttle launch pads, the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB), the Shuttle Landing Facility and the NASA Causeway, with loads of brilliant close-up photo opportunities.

Astronaut Training Experience (ATX) & Mars Base 1*:

Train like an astronaut with the ATX Experience ticket option! This intense 5-hours, hands-on programme, designed by NASA astronauts, takes you through the preparation and training required for the rigors of space flight.

Want to find out what it’s like to work on a Mars space station for a day? Join the crew with the Mars Base 1 Experience (7 hours) ticket – work at the base, take care of the plants in the lab & try your hand at programming space robots

Opening Hours:

  • Kennedy Space Center is open every day of the year, expect Christmas Day
  • The visitor Complex is open from 9am until 5pm (sometimes later, depending on the season).
  • Tours of the Kennedy Space Center start at 10am and depart every 15 minutes.
  • The last tour of the day leaves at 2.45pm.

Location: 

Kennedy Space Center is located in the city of Orsino, Florida, just off the SR 405.

Parking:

Parking is available at Kennedy Space Centre for motorbikes at $5, cars at $10 and RVs or motorhomes at $15 per day.

Accessibility:

  • Accessible parking is available near the entrance to the Kennedy Space Centre Visitor Complex for the same price as other vehicle parking.
  • Tour buses are all wheelchair accessible.
  • Wheelchair accessible transport is available. Please call 48 hours in advance to ensure correct transport is provided.
  • All restrooms are accessible.
  • Wheelchairs and electric scooters are available to rent at $10 and $25 per day respectively.
  • Wheelchair accessible seating is available at the Astronaut Encounter and in the IMAX Theatres.
  • Service animals are permitted throughout the Visitor Complex.
  • Audio guides, American Sign Language interpreters, Closed Captioning and audio description narration are all available.

Dining: 

Space travel can make you hungry – luckily there are various excellent dining options at Kennedy Space Center offering a range of meals from snacks, sandwiches and ice-creams to tasty hot meals.

Shopping:

Kennedy Space Center is home to several well-stocked shops selling a wide range of fascinating NASA and space-related souvenirs, gifts and memorabilia.

Restrictions:

  • Height and weight restrictions may apply on some simulators.
  • Certain items are not permitted on NASA property, such as knives or firearms of any kind.
  • For a full list of prohibited items please contact the Kennedy Space Center directly.

Kennedy Space Center is located in east Central Florida, a short drive from Daytona Beach, Miami and Orlando.

GPS coordinates 28o31'34.10"N and 80o40'45.12"W will take you to the entrance of the Kennedy Space Center.

From Cocoa Beach on State Road 528:

  • Travel north on A1A to SR 528 west.
  • Take the SR 3 exit (Exit 49) towards Merritt Island/Kennedy Space Center.
  • Turn right (north) onto SR 3 and continue for approximately ten miles.
  • Turn left (west) onto Space Commerce Way and then right (east) onto SR 405.
  • Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is on your right.

From Orlando on State Road 50

  • Travel east on SR 50 until you travel beneath the I-95 overpass.
  • At the next intersection take a right (east) onto SR 405 and follow signs for Kennedy Space Center.
  • Travel approximately 11 miles on SR 405.
  • Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is on your right.

From Orlando on State Road 528

  • Travel east on SR 528 to the SR 407 exit to Kennedy Space Center and Titusville.
  • Take SR 407 until it turns into the SR 405.
  • Turn right (east) onto SR 405 and follow signs for Kennedy Space Center.
  • Travel approximately nine miles on SR 405.
  • Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is on your right.

From Daytona Beach on Interstate 95

  • Travel along I-95 to Exit 15 (SR 50).
  • Turn left (east) onto SR 50 and right (east) onto SR 405.
  • Follow signs for Kennedy Space Center.
  • Travel approximately 11 miles on SR 405.
  • Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is on your right.

From Miami on Interstate 95

  • Travel along I-95 to Exit 12 (SR 407).
  • Head east/north on SR 407 until turns into SR 405.
  • Turn right (east) on SR 405 and follow signs for Kennedy Space Center.
  • Travel approximately nine miles on SR 405.
  • Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is on your right.
