The town is a good stop between La Paz and Peru but is nice enough itself with good access to walks and Isla del Sol etc.
Really worth visiting the various Inca sites in town and around, including Inca Baths just outside, with its little museum and mummified body.
If you stay on Isla del Sol beware the slope up from Yumani harbour to the town, it is almost vertical.

Copacabana is a small town, not accessible by plane.
Copacabana is a small town, not accessible by plane. It has a nice feel, although there are lots of people who work for tourist companies and restaurants who will approach you to try to get you to use their services. They're friendly and not aggressive.
Our day trip to Isla del Sol was nice. We hiked to the temple and had wonderful views. On the boat returning to Copacabana we made a detour to a sort of makeshift restaurant. We were told we'd be there for 50 minutes. What most people did was choose a trout from the pools that were netted off from the lake, and it was prepared for lunch. The trout was the best I've had, but it was strange not to know we'd be going there.
I wanted to go to the Poncho Museum but couldn't find it. A local told me where she thought it was, but there was no sign indicating it was there. After wandering around town a bit, I stopped in at the Pit Stop Bakery, which had delicious baked goods, and good coffee.

Quite a vibrant place with lots to do and see.
Quite a vibrant place with lots to do and see. Take a walk up the Calvary to the crosses at the stop. Also Isla del Sol is a nice day out with a walk across the island. It took us about 3.5 - 4hrs to do. Male sure you have water.
Church / cathedral was lovely but strangely they dont allow you to take photos.
Yiikes forgot to say load up on trout whislt in Copa it was lovely.

Overrated town with little character.
Overrated town with little character. One big tourist trap with no diversity in activities or food. Dirty and unkept. Locals clearly don't value cleanliness.... Trash filled the streets. One day was too long to spend here.

It was busy while we were there, as it was the holiday weekend. It’s a nice town with a beatific cathedral. We visited a Isla Del Sol for one night which was amazing. Overall, 2-3 nights in Copacabana is more than sufficient.

This is probably Bolivia’s most underrated destination.
This is probably Bolivia’s most underrated destination. Mediterranean who?! The views here are stunning. Hikes at Isla del Sol, Cerro El Calvario, and Horca del Inca provided the most spectacular overlooks of the city. Worth the miles we walked and being out of breath!
This hotel was spotlessly clean, the room was excellent. We stayed in the low season so not many people around but the staff were superb and the service fantastic. A very good breakfast buffet available with fresh fruit and yoghurt, eggs, a selection of breads, fresh juice and coffee. We ate in t he restaurants one night which was very good. The hotel is an easy walk to town centre, has good views of the lake. Not the cheapest place in town but very comfortable, safe and well managed.
Good price for a room with lake view. There is nothing block my sight, I can see the lake even lay down on bed.
Beautiful garden with 2 adorable alpacas. We spent a whole morning playing with alpacas, enjoying sunshine and lake view, that is joyful.
Good breakfast with bread, jam, scrambled egg, juice, fruit and coffee/tea.
It's a little bit far from city center, but walkable distance. You can get down to lakeside from hotel directly and go all way along with lake to downtown.
there are not only have two heaters in the room but also prepared two warm bags , keep me very warm, really appreciated.
beautiful views from my room , kitchen will equipped, spacious rooms with big restrooms ….water was hot enough to give a comfortable shower experience !!!
their staffs are so friendly, and food is delicious , btw , there are two alpacas in the garden you can play with. the best place to stay in Copacabana.
the staff Anna and Karen were extremely friendly and chatty. they really tried to make the best of an awkward situation (the main hotel building was full and they said I would be staying in “the other building” about half a mile from where I thought I’d be located). Karen offered to stay with me in the other room but this just tells me that they knew I shouldn’t be there alone.
Amazing old colonial building, beautiful garden and an incredible view over Copacabana and the harbour. Log fire in the breakfast room.
Room is quiet and completely dark at night. Super comfortable bed with a big thick duvet.
Mario, the owner, was really kind and helpful.
One of my favourite places I've stayed in 6 months travelling.
What an amazing place! . On the edge of town but still close to the main square. Bernardo really works hard to make sure you have a good stay. The included breakfast is probably the best youll find (eggs, bacon, cereal, coffee/tea + juice and toast with jam). 100% recommend
I arrived to Las Olas after a friend recommended the hostel. I was amazed at the attention to detail in the design and functionality of the suites. The space was very fun and bright and all amenities were clean and well kept.
Thank you Las Olas Team!
Good hotel. Our room was modern and well-decorated. Workers were hospitable. We left our dirty clothes and they did laundry for us, which was really handy. It was pleasantly warm in the room during the night, so we didn't turn on the heater.
The location was perfect with stunning views of the lake. It’s such a unique place and we loved our room. The staff were so friendly and helpful. And we loved the local alpacas! Definitely worth a stop if you’re passing through Copacabana!!
the hotel is located on a hill facing the lake so there is a wonderful view of the lake from the room. the room was big and comfortable. there is a common kitchen that can be used by the guests. interent was fast and reliable
The location of the hotel is a little far from the city center but is perfect if you want to rest they have also a good access to the lake, and it was very clean
