Excellent strategy
From knowing no Italian at all this book follows on beautifully from Paul’s Beginners Italian. Sometimes I feel the need to slow down the audiobook to .5 to absorb the correct pronunciation, and that’s fine. I will go back through the first book and this Next Steps book again and again until I am completely confident with BOTH. After this? It’s such a pity Paul hasn’t taken us to Trotting Italian and then Running With Italian, because I’m not at all sure where to go from here - except to Italy I suppose? One day...

Excellent!
Along with the first audio book, I feel that I have really begun to grasp the basics of Italian and now enhancing my vocabulary will be much easier! I highly recommend these audio books! Paul Noble’s style of teaching really helps you to remember patterns in grammar.

Excellent
I really like the Paul Noble learning method. I feel more confident in my Italian and ready to continue further study and practice. First I listened to Italian with Paul Noble then went onto next steps.I’ve been learning Italian for a year before I listened to this. I’ve learned new vocabulary and become more confident with speaking. Wish I’d listen to this sooner!!

A course that's comfortable and builds confidence.
The earlier course, "Learn Italian' and the follow on "Next Steps in Italian' are well paced and rewarding. All instructions and spoken language are very clear. The best aspect is that the course builds confidence to learn and speak the language. I can't speak with a rolled 'r' sound and some Italian courses can make you feel inadequate but this is not the case here. Most of all I enjoyed the two courses and felt sad when they ended. These courses enable a listener to pick up verbs and verb endings in a natural way. There is no grammar slog - everything is enjoyable. I wish there was a follow on course.
I tried Rosetta Stone which is okay for learning vocabulary but not nearly as good as Paul Noble.

Highly recommended
I have recommended the Beginner level to my night class, I will be recommending this too. The pace is good, words are clear and personally, I like the English and Italian speakers combined.
I have many Italian language downloads but Paul Noble is my favourite. I listen to it while driving to work and flip randomly back and forth as this teaches me to think, not just repeat.

Very good follow-up course, but could be improved
The key aspect which I like about Paul Noble's language tuition techniques is that they work with the brain's memory and as a result the majority of their content is retained on first listen; whereas, I for one forget most of the content of other language courses. However, I agree with other reviews that there is a lack of clarity of pronunciation at certain times by the Italian lady which meant I had to keep re-listening to those parts.
One other point I wish to share is that personally I really don't like the use of Italianised English words such as "il weekend" rather than "il fine settimana"; Italian is such beautiful language which for me is an important motivation factor to learn it.

Excellent addition to the original series
I was a big fan of the original series, as Paul teaches in a way which is accessible, not intimidating and extremely useful as he unlocks conversational Italian that can be used in everyday life immediately. I now live in Italy and use this book alongside my face-to-face Italian lessons, it's amazing the depth of the content that this book covers, especially given its simple approach. I would highly recommend this book, but you MUST cover the first three as this book very much follows on from those. A++
