So many Things to do at Delamere Forest

There's an adventure for everyone at Delamere Forest, with three tree top experiences to choose from and Forest Segways to explore the woods.

You and the family can spend the entire day at Cheshire's largest area of woodland. Delamere Forest is home to a rare ‘quaking bog’ and the beautiful Blakemere Moss – a flooded wetland formed during the Ice Age.

You'll also find a number of easy-going walking trails in Delamere Forest. You will love the incredible views and will see plenty of wildlife.

Bring your bikes or hire some if you‘d like to explore Delamere Forest on two wheels. Or for an extra dose of fun, enjoy a ride on one of our Forest Segways!

Gruffalo Orienteering is a fun family map reading challenge. Using a simple map can you and the children find the twelve Gruffalo markers hidden deep in the wood?

Worked up an appetite? Bring a picnic or grab a bite to eat and a drink at the café.

  • Due to our rural location we recommend that you do not use sat nav or GPS systems to locate our course, however if you feel it will aid your journey, head for ‘Delamere Railway Station’ on Station Road - the B5152.

Go Ape will be signposted from here and is only a few minutes away.

Parking: Follow the main forest road toward the Visitors Centre and drive through the barriers on the left into the main forest car park. Once parked, follow the signs out of the carpark. Turn right up the road. Then at the bridge turn left over the railway bridge and down towards our cabin.

Please note: It will normally only take 5-10 minutes to get to the cabin from the car park, but it can take a little longer during peak times, there are no toilets at the cabin, toilets are located in all car parks.

Parking fees: Parking is managed by Forestry England. Parking prices for the Forest Centre Car Park are £3.80 for up to 1 hour, £7.30 for up to 2 hours, £10.50 for up to 3 hours, or an all day parking ticket costs £12 giving you plenty of time to refuel at the café or to continue to live life adventurously on one of the beautiful walking or biking trails that Delamere Forest has to offer.

Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Award Winner

In 2024 Go Ape Delamere was awarded the Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Award. Here's a recent review:

"Fantastic afternoon despite the rain! Took our 6 year olds who were definitely the youngest but they had no fear and loved it! The staff were fantastic in making sure they were comfortable with the equipment and really encouraging. The course is hair raising in places but a great achievement when it’s complete with the thrill of the zipline!"
