Hotel states that it has an excellent restaurant that provides the best gastronomic proposals and wine in the region. It does not state that the restaurant is closed. This is only revealed on arrival. Very disappointing for such an architecturally fine hotel that could be so good. Hotel also has a no cancellation policy and takes payment even though it was not possible to stay due to there being no restaurant facilities.

A trip to the countryside offers a much needed respite from the hustle and bustle of crowded cities, traffic and pollution. Reconnecting to nature, simpler lifestyle, less choices allowed us to sleep earlier, have a better rest and enjoy what nature has in abundance for us: clean air, beautiful vistas, scenic drives and being close to the rivers and mountains in the region is offset by lovely little communities, regional cuisine and experiences that are unavailable in urban settings.

Unfortunately we only had one night there but I will say that it is a very pretty region very close to Porto city. I imagine it is a beautiful place to hike in and lots to discover (nature-wise). There are some lovely garden centres in the area and the river.

It is very quiet at night and a beautiful view over the landscape. The pool is fantastic with beautiful views as well. The staff was beyong helpful and friendly and helped us a lot with organizing transport to a wedding we were attending and even provided us late check-in and late check-out! We want to thank them very much! We were very happy and can recommend 100%

Andre was a fountain of knowledge and helped us secure a table at an amazing restaurant we wouldn’t have found otherwise. Overall the staff were very helpful in helping us organise taxis when we were in the middle of nowhere and accommodating when we needed a late breakfast after a wedding. Highly recommend staying here!

They provided a large room, a nice bathroom and a very comfortable bed. We had a ground floor room overlooking the pool. The breakfast had varied choices, was served at table, and was very nice. The staff was as helpful as could be. This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. I wish we could have stayed longer.
