This Aran cushion cover is worked on 5mm needles and has three types of cable. There’s a simple cable twist, a more intricate, multi-stranded fishernet cable up the centre and diamond cables framing moss stitch panels. Each pattern repeat covers 16 rows.

Although it looks complex, the instructions are very straightforward and easily followed. The cushion has a stocking stitch reverse with a ribbed button band and 5 buttons. It takes around 300g of Aran (Worsted, 10 ply) yarn.

Sensational worked in dark or pale colours.

The patter is well written. The four stitch cable cross is very long in order to cross on the same row as some of the other cables. It looked funky with my yarn, so I took it out and crossed it two rows earlier.
