Brandee Blank Art

I am inspired by the shapes and colors of nature, and especially the beauty one finds in or near the ocean. I am very lucky to live in Pacifica, CA just south of San Francisco, where I can’t help but be inspired every day. Everything I make is hand-made and one-of-a-kind, often sculpted using nothing more than my fingers and a dentists tool. Nothing gives me more satisfaction then to watch something brand new emerge where there was just a lump of clay when I started.

More often than not, I don’t know where I am going when I start a piece. This is why I call what I do “playing” with clay. I’ll sit down and just play around with techniques until I like what I see!

I have spent many hours experimenting with polymer clay. I love turning my pieces into usable art by making everything from jewelry to hair ornaments; from mini-sculptures for your plants and gardens to polymer clay covered hand-bound journals.
