Estival El Dorado Resort

This was my first experience of a package holiday, and it has set a very high bar for any future trips. I was quite anxious having read some of the reviews for Estival, but we had an incredible holiday and I can't understand how anyone could complain about Estival Eldorado. The resort is beautiful, spread out over a large plot outside of Cambrils and overlooks the ocean. While the size can be a little bit daunting, the receptionist at check in went through a very handy map and circled our room and carefully labelled routes and the dining areas. We had an interconnecting family room, which was a super idea, as it gave our teen a little bit of independence and privacy, while still being close. The room was clean and spacious. Out balcony overlooked the main pool area, but we could still see the sea if we turned to our right. Rooms are cleaned everyday, with fresh linen and towels replaced if needed. The all inclusive plus is absolutely worth it. The main buffet restaurant has a huge choice of food for all meals, there was usually a theme for the evening, for example Mexican, a wide range of fresh seafood and pasta, pizza and chips. Premium soft drinks, such as Coke and Fanta, and beer, withe and red wine and sangria are available on self serve tap in the buffet restaurant and at the Splash Park. The snack bar, located by the main pool has a range of drinks and ice creams that are included (indicated clearly on the menu by a green dot) and the adult only pool bar is the same. Our Jet2 rep, Angie, holds a meeting that you are invited to by text, that is very useful and carefully explains everything the all inclusive package contains, as well as lots of information about the local area and the resort in general. She was happy to answer any questions and is a genuinely lovely lady. The staff at Estival are very friendly, and most speak some English, and will go out if there way to understand and assist you. It really was an incredible stay and my only regret is that I didn't book a longer holiday!

We stayed at this hotel in early June. Absolutely LOVED it and would really like to go there again. Great rooms, lovely food, nice staff, really can't fault a thing. We were there when the evening tribute act Queen were playing (it's fortnightly so we were lucky) they were fantastic. Hopefully go again next year.

We visited end of May and stayed in a 4 sleeper villa. It was really comfortable for 3 adults, one child and one infant. Villas are located about 400m away from the beach & pools but this didn't bother us. It was comfortable and quiet. The hotel facilities are really lovely. Great pool area for kids with slides and shallow water. We all had great fun in the pool. Food was delicious. Couldn't fault anything really. The hotel is right on the beach as well which is perfect. Amazing holiday from start to finish! Family suite was huge, beds comfortable, bathroom great with a huge bath and shower and lots of storage. Food was amazing with a fantastic choice even for our very fussy eaters! All inclusive is fantastic. Pools are incredible (and not overly busy which was great last week in June!) Stones throw to the beach and a lovely walk to Cambrils. Can't rate the place highly enough, it runs like clockwork. Only tiny niggle is the mini golf could do with some attention, it's really run down however for a free activity (Just a small refundable deposit to borrow the clubs) it's good fun.

Spent a week here with my wife in may.we wanted a relaxing holiday and this place definitely ticked all the boxes.We stayed in standard rooms which were absolutely spotless and cleaned out daily.The pool areas were extremely tidy,grass always cut and plenty of sun beds,never the normal rush to get up the crack of dawn to try and get a sunbed! The dining area was extremely large,very rarely a queue.There was always a large choice of food,well presented and very tasty.Ive stayed at far more expensive places and never had this much choice. Give this place a try,you won’t be disappointed.We have already booked again for a week next may!

Hotel was nice food was good Bed rooms cleaned but not fully only had beds done every day some staff nice some staff not life guards at kids pool very aggressive towards kids kids not allowed to have fun would not return

Fantastic – Peaceful – Quality Resort – with an all-inclusive beach bar and water sports. This was our family’s second holiday at this resort (May 2017 & May 2019) 2017 a party of 9 and 2019 a party of 12. Ages (grandchildren) 5, 5 and 6 (Children and partners) aged between 17 and 27, then the two old ones 52 and 54! Something for all ages… We had a family room (2 doubles joined) and 3 other standard rooms that were spotlessly clean. The service and food/drink was excellent…The al la carte is a must. Unfortunately looking at some reviews some people will always find something minor to complain about…relax and enjoy yourselves! The reception staff are first class too, very helpful if you need guidance…taxi, book Port Aventura tickets etc. It’s about a 20min stroll to the lovely Cambrills or a 20 taxi to Port Aventura.

a lovely hotel with modern spacious rooms (we had a suite for 2 x adults and 1 x child) restaurant was lovely and food excellent. Lots of adult only spaces for those that want to be away from younger holidaymakers. Disappointingly for us, too many exclusions for us as we travelled with a mature 12 year old that wasn't allow access to the indoor pool or gym! the al a carte is exceptional, a real treat not to be missed. we went mid April and the pools were cold, so much so that the kids pool was not used at all... and this is why restrictions to indoor pool should have been relaxed in early season.

This is a lovely resort. Pool facilities are great but be prepared the water is freezing! Our daughter was chittering after 15 minutes in the pool. The buffet restaurant is big and has an outside area which give an alfresco option. The bar areas are well manned and I don't think I waited more than a couple of minutes to be served. Brilliant facilities on departure if you are not leaving until later in the day, with showers and luggage storage made available plus our all inclusive extended until we were picked up to leave for airport! Now for the tweaks. The food isn't always labelled in the buffet so occasionally a bit of guess work is required. The disabled access gate at the kids pool can only be opened by staff- seems silly considering most users of the pool complex have strollers as it's the kids pool (staff roam around so not always near gate) and finally for some reason only beer and soft drinks are available at the beach bar as part of the all inclusive offering, not spirits!? Some form of transport would be good into town or information about the local bus would be handy- it's around 30minute walk to town centre. A porter to help with luggage at departure would be good too as it's a huge complex! Now the few negatives- We stayed in a villa room at the extremity of the resort and felt forgotten about. Our room wasn't serviced for the first 3 days. The bed sheets were never changed in the 7 days we stayed. And we had to contact reception at least 4 time about getting fresh towels. The house keeping wasn't what I would expect for a 4 star resort. With that being said I would happily return to this hotel complex but would probably stay in a standard hotel room rather than the villa rooms.
