*This is a MADE TO ORDER design. You will not receive the actual pendant in the photo, but rather one just like it. Because it is a hand-crafted item, each pendant has its own unique differences, so please keep that in mind when ordering.
If you would like to see your pendant BEFORE purchase, send me an e-mail through etsy with a custom order instead of buying from this listing, and we will go from there.*
Usually I complete my orders very quickly, but production time can take from two days to two weeks, depending on the materials I have on-hand and how many orders I have to fill. I will always send you a note to let you know how long your pendant will take to complete, and update you with any additional changes. Please let me know ahead of time if you need the pendant made immediately, and I will try to work with you on that. Also please read my shipping and return policies before ordering =]

"Brigid"
Brigid (Brighid, Brigit, Brid) can easily be seen as one of the most (if not THE most) powerfully influential Celtic goddesses in Irish mythology. She is a Spring goddess, ushering in the first new signs of warmth and life, and is seen as a beacon of hope that the cold winter is coming to an end and that better times are coming (both literally and metaphorically). She is also the goddess of fertility and childbirth, healing, poetry, smithcraft, and fire (the hearth). Her role as a fire (hearth) goddess is significant in that fact that it represents not only the physical fire inside the hearth, but also the emotional warmth of the home. She is an extremely loving and empowering deity, also inspiring goodness, creativity, and charity. She has survived through many generations and cultures, even being Christianized as a Saint: Saint Brigid of Kildare. Through her identity as both a goddess and a Saint, she has been able to fulfill many different roles for her followers. As a goddess, she was so loved by her people that she is said to have united warring Celtic tribes, ushering in more peaceful times. As a Saint, she brought hope to her people through her generous and loving nature. Another important aspect of Brigid is that she is also seen as a Warrior Goddess. Not in war, but in the home. She has a fiercely passionate "mother bear" side to her, said to protect all of her children (she is known specifically as the protector of women and children, but protects all inside the home, including men and even pets). Brigid is a wonderful model of feminine love, strength, and empowerment.
I chose to depict her fire aspect in my design, and have made her to be holding a fiery flame in her hands, which she is often pictured with in artwork. I was inspired to create this design after seeing symbols of Brigid continue to show up throughout my pregnancy, and so I decided to bring her essence to life through my art =]
Made with Carnelian and Citrine stones, Swarovski crystals, and oxidized copper wire. Oxidized creations bear no protective coating or false coloring of wire. Just like a real tree grows and goes through different stages of life, this pendant/ornament will continue to tarnish and naturally change through the years. *When this pendant/ornament begins to tarnish, you can send it back to me and I will re-polish it for you free of charge! But you must pay for all shipping fees =]*
About the stones used in this design...
Carnelian:
Carnelian has a warm, bold type of energy to it, and is a great stone for leadership and courage. It inspires motivation, vitality, and creativity. It is believed to help timid speakers speak strongly and fearlessly.
Citrine:
Citrine is probably most famous for its ability to attract wealth, prosperity, and success. But aside from that, it is also a very energizing type of crystal, bringing about a sense of confidence, happiness, enthusiasm, and wonder. Cleansing the aura and helping to release negative emotions, it is naturally a stone of creativity, aiding highly in self-expression. Personally, I find this stone to have a very "warm" and joyful energy about it - even playful at times.
PLEASE NOTE:
While stones and crystals can be helpful in soothing particular ailments and emotional distresses, they are NOT intended to replace medical care. Depending on your own emotional and physical needs, you may find that the stones do more or less for you than described. I personally have benefited from crystal energies, and do my best to give an accurate description of what they can do for others =]
The Tree of Life symbolizes spiritual growth and wisdom, strength, protection, and connectedness. It is a healthy model that inspires the spirit and encourages hope in all hearts.
These are delicate, wire wrapped pendants that should be handled with care. Some of the stones, glass, or shells used to create the tree can break if handled roughly.
