Hotel Sol Pelicanos Ocas

On arrival, having advised ahead of time that there was someone with mobility issues, to be told we were allocated a room on the 9th floor. It took some arguing and pointing out that in the event of a fire they would be stranded as the use of lifts is not allowed. There were 2 lifts with a capacity of 5 people each for 2000 guests. The access lift from street level down to reception did not work for the whole fortnight so wheelchair access was via a long steep ramp, which was difficult to push a wheelchair up. The food was basic. Not bad but basic. There were 2 table tennis tables, but no bats or balls. When we next visit this resort we will be choosing an alternative hotel.

The problem here is that the hotel facilities are to small for the number of guests or the staff were in sufficient . Massive cues at reception massive cues for meals no space around the pool not good really I wouldn’t stop here again I will try the ambassador instead .also the poolside catering was poor quality and expensive

This hotel was clean but I thought it was very lacking in entertainment for children. My children (ages 6 and 3) attended the kids club but did not want to return as the entertainers spoke in Spanish so they spent the whole time not understanding what was going on. Also the evening entertainment was very poor. 30 minutes for the kids disco, which again was all in Spanish, was mainly songs no one had heard of. The entertainment after for adults was very poor so we ended up having to go out each evening. I loved Benidorm but would not return to this hotel. Also the check in on arrival was an hour wait and 2 other families I travelled with had to change rooms twice due to faulty air conditioning and showers not working. The staff on reception were not very helpful. The Jet2 rep was fantastic though.

Stayed here 5 nights I june, first time in hotel and benidorm, and really enjoyed the stay The hotel has many pools and although there was alot of people there we had no trouble getting a sunbed, the pools were lovely, there was water aerobics in one pool, night entertainment outside we watched from our balcony. Food was what you expect abroad but we always found something to eat. The hotel was positioned in a great place for bars and shops and a short walk to the beach, only thing was the late check-in we arrived about 11am and couldn't get into our room till 4pm was hot and bothered by this time, next time I will put shorts and top etc in my hand luggage so can change and be more comfortable whilst waiting, there is somewhere to store luggage whilst waiting

The hotel room was basic but clean. Drinks expensive in the hotel compared to local bars. Only stayed bed and breakfast but the choice and quality was very good. Plenty of room around the pools. No trouble finding a sun bed.

I have been in Sol Pelicanos Ocas twice now and will come back again! Staff were lovely and helpful. Clean rooms, food was amazing and there were a lot of choices. friendly bar staff! Evening entertainment was good but there's a lot of places around the hotel if you prefer something different.

Stayed numerous times at the Sol Pelicanos but always been moved across to the Ocas rather than the main hotel. It is so basic!!! the beds are so hard it felt like I was sleeping on the floor. Bathroom was a wet room but when you used the shower the water filled the bathroom floor. We were on the second floor at the front of the hotel, the noise during the night was unbearable, so loud, people returning from nights out. We love Benidorm and have been over 20 times staying at various hotels but this is the only one that street noise has stopped me sleeping. Had two days were no clean towels were left, had to search down a maid to replenish toilet roll. NEVER AGAIN

I was very sceptical about the hotel after reading reviews before we travelled as a couple. On arrival check in was quick and although our room was not quite ready we were able to store our luggage securely at reception. Our room was on the fourth floor in the Ocas building. The room was spacious,clean,plenty of wardrobe space and a lovely bathroom. The room was cleaned everyday and any used towels replaced. Every member of staff in the hotel were friendly, polite and helpful and I have no fault at all with the service we received. The food in the hotel is excellent and caters for absolutely everyone, from fussy eaters to someone who loves lots of variety of food. Breakfast was lovely, every cereal, breads , cheeses, juices, pancakes, syrups, sauces, fruit to a full English. Sometimes if a busy time eggs may not be quite ready but within minutes these appeared. If you chose to eat later in a morning the dining room queue could be a bit long but did go down quickly and staff worked hard to get everyone seated without too much delay.We had dinner every evening as half board and the quality of food was wonderful. Well cooked and tons of variation yet again. Fish, meats, pizza, pastas, salads and tons more. Enough different meats to have a mixed grill on most nights and the stews and pies were beautiful Sometimes food may not be piping hot but microwaves are there should you need to warm up. We never did as everything was hot enough when we ate. Lots of desserts and much more. Drinks are free in a morning but are to be paid for at dinner if you are not all inclusive. This has always been the case in every hotel I have stayed in if half board basis. We have been to many hotels and if we think it’s not great we will say but definitely think this hotel deserves a good review. Our only downside was our room faced over the dining room roof area which wasn’t a super view and could probably do with something doing although we didn’t spend much time on the balcony, if we had it would have been a let down. We spent no time at the pool as not really hot enough but from what we saw the pools are wonderful and very large. The pool bar looked busy but we didnt eat from there so can’t comment. There are smaller pools between Ocas building and the main hotel building also. The hotel wasn’t the quietest of hotels but to be expected. Nobody was shouting all night though. A towel at the bottom of the door helped as quite a large gap. Would definitely return and recommend.
