This item has a beautiful handmade touch, and I can tell that it is one-of-a-kind, made and packaged with a lot of care. The colour of the wood is cooler in tone than the one pictured (the one I received is a cool grey colour), with a slightly more organic shape, which I like.

Home decor inspired by our natural environment

My baskets are inspired by the natural world around me. The shapes, materials and inspiration all come from hikes in the woods, kayak trips along the coast or just beachcombing the shore near my home.

I try to keep my work as natural as possible. I use wood salvaged from the forest, blown up on the beach or discarded from logging. Twigs are snipped one at a time from their trees, and never too many from one spot. And when I can I use natural dyes to colour my baskets- my favourite is with wild elderberries picked from the forest. Every piece is unique, designed and handmade by me.
